What do non-uber-fans think of Squeeze?

If you were ever curious here's your chance to see a bit of a Squeeze debate among non-fanatics, as foreign an idea as that may seem.

I think one of the big problems Squeeze have is with the lack of recognition of much of their later work - a great deal after 1989 was artistically a triumph and commercially a failure. Although Argy Bargy and East Side Story are the best of the early period, surely someone's got to recognise how superb the songs are on Play? Or how amazing the arrangements on Ridiculous?
People are creatures of fashion and Squeeze aren't fashionable again - yet - so tell your friends about them.
